Marketing Specialist (Email & Performance Marketing)
Job Description
Our Client is seeking a highly organized, self-driven Marketing Specialist (Email & Performance Marketing) to help execute and optimize our Client's growth marketing efforts.
This role focuses on email lifecycle marketing, marketing automation, and performance marketing campaigns across platforms such as Google Ads, Reddit, and Meta. You will help ensure that their marketing funnel — from first touch to conversion — is continually improving through data-driven experimentation and optimization.
Our Client serves a passionate global community of builders, homelab enthusiasts, and self-hosters. This role is highly hands-on and execution-focused. You will be responsible for building campaigns, optimizing automation flows, analyzing performance data, and collaborating with the marketing team to improve conversion and engagement.
Because our Client serves a technically sophisticated audience, candidates who enjoy learning technical products and engaging with technical communities will ramp especially quickly in this role.
Key responsibilities:
Email Marketing & Lifecycle Automation
Manage and optimize email automation flows in Brevo
Work with our Creative and Content Marketing Specialist to design, create, and continually improve email campaigns to convert new and existing users
Support product launches, promotions, and lifecycle campaigns through targeted email messaging
Conduct A/B testing on subject lines, segmentation, messaging, and timing
Performance Marketing
Monitoring paid campaign performance across Google Ads, Reddit, and Meta and identifying opportunities to improve ROI and ROAS
Coordinating creative and copy needs with the marketing team for paid campaigns
Running audience tests, creative experiments, and landing page optimization
Supporting retargeting and lifecycle advertising strategies
Improving cost-per-acquisition (CPA) and overall conversion efficiency over time
Campaign Operations & Analysis
Monitor data dashboards to track and report on campaign performance, conversion funnels, and ROI
Help build and maintain clean UTM and attribution tracking infrastructure as we refine our measurement systems
Requirements
Approximately 3–5 years of experience in digital marketing, growth marketing, lifecycle marketing, or similar roles (we care more about demonstrated impact than exact years of experience)
Demonstrated expertise in email marketing automation — building, managing, and optimizing lifecycle flows and sequences. We use Brevo; experience with comparable platforms is equally valid
Experience with newsletter platforms such as Beehiiv
Familiarity with paid ad platforms such as Google Ads, Reddit Ads, and Meta Ads
Solid understanding of campaign tracking, UTM parameters, and Google Analytics
Experience building automation workflows using tools such as Zapier or Make
Comfortable using AI tools (such as ChatGPT or Claude) to accelerate work across copywriting, research, and campaign operations
Comfortable working within headless CMS platforms such as Sanity.io to create and manage web content
Strong understanding of lifecycle marketing and funnel optimization
Analytical mindset — able to interpret performance data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines simultaneously
Experience with SQL and BI tools such as Power BI, Looker, or Omni Analytics for deeper funnel analysis (nice to have)
Basic knowledge of SEO best practices (nice to have)
Experience with project management tools such as Asana (nice to have)
