Elixir Senior Engineer
Job Description
Our Client is seeking an Elixir Senior Engineer to join their team and help build, improve, and scale their operating system. You’ll work across the product stack (depending on your expertise), contributing to system architecture, software development, and performance optimization, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver an outstanding experience for their users.
As a senior-level engineer, you bring not just technical expertise but also judgment, initiative, and leadership. You will take ownership of complex projects, mentor other engineers, and help drive technical strategy and product direction.
Your job is to elevate our Client's quality and build bulletproof technology.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain core components of their web interface, OS internals, APIs, virtualization, containers, storage systems, etc.
Lead and contribute to architectural decisions, technical design documents, and code reviews.
Drive projects from concept to completion with minimal supervision.
Implement efficient and scalable solutions for data retrieval, manipulation, and storage.
Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Investigate and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks, and system reliability issues.
Ensure the security and integrity of their cloud infrastructure through best practices and protocols.
Rotate between the various services that their team manages to gain exposure to all of their systems and keep your work fresh and interesting.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, support, and QA to deliver reliable, scalable features.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, contributing to team growth and code quality.
Stay current with new technologies and propose opportunities to improve the product or development process.
Requirements
Advanced skills in Elixir and Erlang development, debugging, and delivery.
Strong understanding of OTP and BEAM features and development methodologies for scalable application development.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Strong testing and maintainability discipline.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, performance, and security.
Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).
Familiarity with LLM tooling (i.e., Codex, Claude, OpenCode, etc.) and an interest in utilizing them in your workflows.
Proven experience as a Senior Engineer.
Possess an active Visa.
Nice to Have
Ability to elevate system testing.
Experience with websockets, Phoenix LiveView, and advanced networking.
Familiarity with GraphQL design patterns and best practices.
Familiarity with Linux, Bash scripting, and PHP.
Aesthetic taste and understanding of design.
Experience with Unraid OS.
